How to Accept the Cards You are Dealt

Why are we dealt different cards in life? How do you accept the cards you are dealt? What can we do if we don’t like the cards we are dealt?

How many times have you asked yourself this question: “Why them and not me?”

I am not an expert card player so I do not have some great analogies from Poker, Blackjack, Spades, or Solitaire. UNO, however, is a card game I understand. I already have some people in mind that I would make “draw four” cards. And, it would be nice to “skip” some of the challenging parts and get to the beautiful ending. Clearly, if the greatest card analogy I can come up with is UNO, then I should probably stop while I am ahead.

Figuratively, I do believe that life deals us a series of cards to navigate and use. The good news is: You don’t have to scheme or steal other people’s hands in order to win the game called life. In reality, you are competing against yourself, and the missing cards you need are somewhere hidden inside you or within your reach.

There might be a few different ways to look at the hand you are dealt:

1. You are equipped with everything you need to discover the “right” cards, your puzzle pieces; therefore, you are not at a permanent disadvantage. Stay open and keep living.

2. You don’t need the best cards (according to society’s standards) to win if you are competing against yourself. You are here to live YOUR life, not someone else’s.

3. Your cards are your greatest strength and greatest resource. The create your unique perspective in this world. They are YOUR story. They are your song.

4. You will acquire the necessary cards in your life when the time is right. You can’t control other people’s actions, but you can keep working to understand and do what is within your control.

Trust that God created you just the way you are and that you have everything inside you to improve you life, even if by a little bit. Life is waiting for us to use our faith, confidence, strength, resilience, hope, and love as we learn to ride its waves and experience its seasons.

Accepting the cards you are dealt does not mean giving up or settling; it means shifting your focus to better understand how you can use what is in your hand as a tool to get closer to what you want out of life.

Nah this is just pure disgusting amount of unholy copium , fuck that

The harsh truth is none of us are created equal and there will always be someone who has unfair advantages , heretical wealth, genetics etc etc .. and that is a immutable and undeniable .

Fuck the redpill bullshit and do whatever you can to destroy this hypocritical abomination of a society

Once people become intelligent enough to realise how unfair this disgusting world truly is , nobody would ever wanna play a game that has been astronomically rigged from the start .

    1. Life Me.

Hi there! Thank you for sharing your perspective. I agree that none of us are created equal, which makes it impossible for everyone to really start or end at the same place based on external, social standards. Life does sometimes feel unfair, especially when compared with others. That’s a fact. I believe that everyone is looking for internal peace and love, and sadly some will choose to destroy others to find it. So, personally, I am currently focused on seeking inner peace, spreading love to those around me, and trying to find ways (small and large) that I can do my part to make this world less of a pile of crap. Will that work? I don’t know, but I’m willing to try first. Both things can be true: this world is full of disgusting things and it is also filled with beautiful things and people. Let’s hope we can collectively keep the scale tipped on the more pleasant side. Is there anything you are looking forward to in the next year?
