None Of Your Business

I am learning that I don’t have to answer every question asked of me. I have a right to remain silent when it comes to matters of my own life and my own business. Often, in an attempt to not offend people, or more importantly to not be deemed a “mean person,” I somehow got to the point where I felt like I owed or was indirectly obligated to explain, clarify, and respond to people’s questions and opinions about my life. I had to reflect to notice that I gave people too much power and access to my life and my mind.  Once I got to the point where I understood that the only person I was and am obligated to answer to is God, I started to find my own voice. Sometimes you have to be empowered, use your voice, and stop unneccessary people from having access to your mind, life, and even heart. Say it loud and say it proud: “No pedestrians beyond this point!”
